It was nice of the highways people to build the designated parking spots for EE wagons on the M25.
You know the little lay-bys that run behind the bridge supports…
I have often thought that some look quite a lot narrower at their exit than entry.
Well today I saw two UK Amazon trucks squeezed into one of these, with a bloke at the front furiously kicking at the Armco, trying to bend it so he and his mate could get out from where they appeared to be stuck. Truck traps!
Serves em right for parking in a designated EE spot I say
One of ours had a break at the one near Cobham, 3 points and £100 fine made it an expensive break.
The flip…
Flops had an excuse when they first started using these place as parking areas. On Italian autostradas you could (might have changed now) legitimately park in areas adjacent to the carriageway. I figure that back then they were assuming it was legit to do the same here. But since the introduction of signage clearly stating that parking is forbidden they have continued to do it and now English registered motors have joined them too. Another fine example of the Dcpc’s failure to teach even the most basic of highway rules to it’s hostages.
Why, just last week I saw plod having a chat with Johnny Foreigner in the one clockwise from the M11/M25 junction. I’ll admit it makes no difference to me as I whizz past all the slowies in lanes 2 and 3 but, it does show a complete lack of respect for the law.
I’m not sure what the OP means by being trapped though? As far as I’m aware you can drive all the way through them with ease.

Some definitely look narrower on the exits, these two appeared to be stuck and trying to push the barriers back

They can’t enforce fines/points on non-UK licences though, right? Like service parking fines too I suppose??

if you commit an offence they want to do you for, then their option is to arrest the driver and go to court the next morning. ( not so handy if you get lifted on a friday).
they can clamp the truck if its sitting somewhere safe with facilities for the driver ( assuming the flipflop realises it ill be somewhat different and better than a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ on the hard shoulder),not that it will make any difference as itl just still be normal to dump under the trailer whilst waiting on the cabbage and seagull stew to mature in the pot,and release it once the company pays the fine for a operators offence.
if your going to show a irish or other foreign licence in the uk,then you have to gamble on whether your going to get let off as it will be too much hassle,or spend a night in the cells…before long, your a great gambler…

Saturday morning court hearings are normal procedure (there will usually be one such Court covering several neighbouring areas), so getting lifted on a Friday shouldn’t be so much of an issue. The problems arise if you are arrested on a Saturday or, worse still, just before a Bank Holiday weekend.

What was the 3 point endorsement?
(Where’d you fall off the face of the earth to, whilst I’m at it?)

Endorsement code MW10 - Contravention of special roads regulations. Misuse of the hard shoulder in this case.

Not a problem if you don’t park where you shouldn’t.
The ■■■■■■ would be if you get locked up on a Saturday and are due a 45 on release, you can’t claim the 48 hours in nick as you’re not free to dispose of your time as you wish.

So, manual entry showing POA then…?
