When is the truck tacho unit supposed to be downloaded .?
The one I am driving at the moment as far as I know Has not been touched.
A guy comes in once a month to download our cards but that it.
is it a legal to drive thd the truck if it aint been downloaded…?
drive it all you want as it aint your resposability too have the tachco head downloaded
They are usually done 6 weekly before the unit go,s in for service at our gaff

if it aint been done when bod comes to do it he could be there A G E S 
Not your prob shag. They should be copying the tacho head unit once every couple of months although it holds a year odd of data so…
It is a legal requirement for the operator to ensure the head unit is downloaded.
Legally the VU should be downloaded no later than 56 days from the day after the last download, but as others have said it’s not your problem so don’t worry about it, there’s no comeback on you if the VU is never downloaded.
I went to one of our depots last week and found that the manager has made it the 2 drivers jobs to download the head weekly along with their drivers cards.
I was like WTF ? Nothing to do with you :S
Apparently they have been doing it for time now, since the manager took over, and now it’s the ‘normal’ thing to do.
