Truck shows in Great Britain and Europe

Hi all another new thread! I don’t think there is a thread on this . It would be good for dates etc and reviews good and bad and hopefully some good pictures I will start it off with the Shropshire Truck show on 11th and 12th of May .this year it is in Shrewsbury not Oswestry on the west mid show ground the post code is SY1 2PF . Tony

What a good idea. I keep missing things for a lack of knowing they were on. We could compile a list.

David

That’s what I was hoping . Tony

The Classic Commercial Enthusiasts show is on March 16th at the Three Counties Showground Malvern . Should be worth a look

ok thanks eric is it a good one and have you got any pictures? tony

Havent been for a couple of years but the last time i went i really enjoyed it . Normally a good selection of classic trucks on display and plenty of stalls with memorabilia ect . Of course if you really feel like splashing out there is an auction of old trucks and spares bring your wallet .Dont have any pictures Tony sorry .This year it is organised by Jason Lunn who used to work with Live Promotions who manage Truckfest where i work as a judge .

Hi Eric thanks for that sounds a good show and not too far from i live in Shrewsbury. Heres a few from the Shropshire truck show last year. Tony

I don’t know Tony,I never went to Shepton Mallet when it was held there.I would think it would be similar to the Shropshire Truck Show.
Cheers Dave.

Ok thanks Dave . Tony

The Newark event has been pretty good for the last two years, a good turn out of classics and a much more relaxed atmosphere than Peterborough, which just seems to be over commercialised nowadays, I know its a business event but Peterborough is OTT.

We only go an hour or so from Stamford to keep costs down but a few of the steam rallies/vintage shows round our area are as follows…

Saturday 25th/Sunday 26th May AEC Gathering/Bomber County Road Run at Newark Showground. Also the Eastern Counties REVS/ERF meet.
Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd June Rockingham Castle Steam Festival, replaces the Belvoir Castle event. Always a good commercial turn-out.
Saturday 15th/Sunday 16th June Holbeach Vintage Rally.
Saturday 22nd/Sunday 23rd June Steamtrak at Great Casterton, near Stamford. Run by a friend of ours, still a new show but a good selection of commercials from 30’s onwards.
Sunday 14th July 2013 Peterborough Bus and Commercial Rally at Sacrewell Farm. Orgainsers trying to increase the number of lorries, saw Mickeyblue there last year.
Saturday 31st August/Sunday 1st September Boston Steam and Vintage Rally.
Saturday 7th/Sunday 8th September Haddenham Steam Rally.
Saturday 7th/Sunday 8th September Truckfest Newark.
Saturday 21st/Sunday 22nd September Cranford Steam Rally, near Kettering.

Thanks for that Marc thats what i hope that would go on this thread . Tony

One for the pot (if that’s ok?)

Well, 2 actually.

Crowfield truck rally, Orwell truck stop, Ipswich. 25/26 of May.

Gathering of the Griffin, Same address, 28/29 of September.
This is a Truck show for Scanias and enthusiasts. The aim is to put together the best, most diverse collection of Scanias thru the decades, displayed in chronological order. It doesn’t have to be polished with in an inch of it’s life. Arrivals are welcome from midday Saturday. Hopefully some form of entertainment in the evening.Possibly a charity auction if enough suitable goods offered and a raffle. On the sunday, a lazy day socializing with all.At 4.30PM. Hopefully the big departure, The plan would be for each truck to leave in chronological order to allow film and photography of what is to be a truly one off convoy of Scanias setting off along the A14. It could be a truly magical moment. The cost? £5 booking fee to cover admin. Anyone wishing to take part, please get in touch.
