If you drive Monday to Friday say doing 2 x 10 3 x9 ,can you drive wagon to a truck show on Saturday(either yours or firms) not getting paid for it, doing it for pleasure no reward.
Would depend on hours driven the week before this one and on weekly rest period taken prior to starting work on the week in question.
Any driving would need to comply with EU tacho laws.
I believe the not for hire or reward rule only applies to vehicles never used for hire or reward, if say you had a truck that was used just for shows otherwise anyone parked up for a break would be able to pull their card and tootle off to the shops.
My understanding is that yes you can do it as long as you do not exceed 90 hours driving in any fortnight, or 56 hours driving in any week…
Theoretically, no you can’t. Having said that, we’re doing the Lydden Hill show this weekend, and we’ll be doing the parade lap on Sunday, so I won’t be showing even a 24 hour rest. I’ll keep the admission tickets as evidence, but I very much doubt that VOSA would get too bent out of shape if I was stopped next week.
