Truck routing software Q?

Is there any free software that does TRUCK routing
Having a slight diff off opinion over one of our longer journey routes with one of my many bosses ,
We do up to Sangs (mac duff) and back in one hit usual its a 10 hr drive ,
Normally i leave hillington get as far as Turiff and thats my 1st 4.5hrs ,take my 45 , drive another 20 mins that gets me to mac duff tip/reload head down usually get to stirling services get 2nd 45 , that gives me 1hr to get to yard , usually do able but very depending on traffic, BUT one driver who i wont name flys up n down , so we are all being tarnished by his times .

Google maps says it takes 4hrs 12m
AA route finder says 4hrs 33 mins !
now am assuming these are car based times , i would like to have something to show him next time he moans about times /OT etc
Something that shows 56mph on Motorways, 50mph on duals, 40mph on country “A ROAD’S”
any help would be appriciated ,
mick

Free … No
The more accurate/dedicated truck routing software is usually an expensive subscription format.
Long gone are the days of punching in the list of destinations into Microsofts autoroute and it gave you a rough estimate on time/distance

There is a simple solution for the times when you, as a driver, are being compared to another drivers performance.

“Get them to do it then”.

Works every time IME, I wish I had a £pound for every TM that tried to pool all the best qualities of all their drivers & then expect all their drivers to follow that one example.

The mythical driver, It doesn’t exist, it never existed & it never will.

Have you thought of asking how the one driver (who you won’t name) does it?

You seem to have ruled out tipping whilst on break, or at least you think you have . . .

I know how he does it we all do , and it aint legal but for what ever reason no one is digging him for it . and to be honest its no my place either thats what bosses get big wages for , i just want to be doing my job legally and safely , just annoying when there are about 5 of us doing this run and one screwing it up for the rest , BUT hey ho thats the way of the world .
Personaly i dont tip on break , cant speak for other people

He’s not screwing it up for you. He’s screwing it up for himself & for the company.

You need to stick to your guns & when you are asked why you aren’t doing it like him, you need to explain carefully & logically why you aren’t prepared to break the law to get the job done any quicker.

I’d like a £pound for every time I’ve been in a similar situation.

It’s YOUR licence, if you lose it because they put pressure on you, then you can’t work for them any longer.

You also have the added bonus of not being able to work for anyone else either. Do you think they’re bothered?
