Too many drama queens here, that’s all. I never figured it out, either.
The firearms rules are pretty strictly enforced between countries, especially heading furthur South. I am licenced for firearms in Canada but, even so, I cannot import guns from the US without loads of hassle. Ammunition is ok as long as the shells aren’t tracers!
As for the weather, one day can be -25 in Winnipeg, then you get down South and can be in +25 within a couple of days. Unless you are me, in which case you wouldn’t know.
