This is a soft launch of the TruckNet Blog page. PJ has worked hard to write all of the code. Originally, Rick, PJ and myself has discussed making Blogs available through TruckNet about two years ago. This code is all original and has not been purchased from a vendor. This way we can test and tweak and add the little features that everyone wants
We offer blogs for everyone who creates a profile as a free service and we really don’t have many limits as to what can be posted in your personal blogs. Here are the things that can get your blogging privileges revoked.
■■■■■■■■ Explicit Stories
Racial, Ethnic, ect. hate messages.
Threats of violence to other people of any type.
You would really have to be trying to get your Blogging privileges removed.
An online diary/journal-type thing, basically. It’s short for Weblog.
If anyone wanted to use this service for their weekly diaries, it’s the ideal place…and you can always put threads up in here linking back to that week’s update to let people know when you’ve added a bit more.
The beauty of a “Blog” is that you can update it daily or weekly (or whenever) and keep all the diaries in one place, which should make for fascinating reading a few months or years later…by linking each week’s new entry back here (as suggested above) you could keep the story itself intact so that it eventually creates a book-sized piece, rather than having to scrawl through everyone’s comments within the text in here…also, people can bookmark it and check it directly.
I think I’m going to have to give up driving and take up this website as a full-time job (especially if RobK starts a blog as well as his weekly post )

Just an idea.
But if people do that then you won’t get any comments anymore and I like reading everyone’s replies, it makes it all worthwhile that others are getting enjoyment. If I didn’t get any feedback then I probably wouldn’t bother.

Just been looking at some ‘blogs’ online . People write down and post every little detail of their lives - that’s way too OTT. Afaic, I post my work diary because it’s relevant to the site and the readers - on the whole - enjoy reading my escapades but that’s as far as it goes. This ‘blog’ thing is not for me. Got more important things to be doing like drinking beer.
The suggestion was for the world in general, not you in particular, Rob.
You would still get feedback on here if you did what I suggested, just not in the middle of the diarys…but on the thread you put up here leading to them instead. Same as Coffeeholic does with his on the Insider.
You don’t have to go into detail about anything you don’t want to…if you want to keep your blog to work then that’s fine. The things are what you make them.

It wasonly a suggestion…!!!
Fair enough, but I personally don’t like how Neil’s diary (for example) is separate from the place where comments can be made. Seems too disjointed to me and another attempt at trying to split the site up .
and another attempt at trying to split the site up
Paranoia setting in me old mate
Just because you dont want to use a on-line journal, doesnt mean that others will not.
It is Free software for those who wish to use it, It is NOT run by T/Net UK, but rather a service offered by Truck.Net USA who have graciously allowed any of the members here who wish to avail themselves of it to do so.
You dont like the idea… thats fine, dont use it. Simple really
Probably because I have no time to write to a blog, I wish I did
does that mean because I personally dont have time to write to one, or because certain members on here don’t want one we shouldnt offer those who might do want to use a free blog, this free service
I allus seem to end up in the thick of it; dunno how I manage it.
Big Foot, small mouth■■? or is it small foot big mouth■■? I always get it mixed up! as for a blog! … well I just may do one myself But why anyone would be interested in what I do god only knows.
