So I worked for a company for a short while and I won’t name but they do have airside security clearances.
When they park their vehicles in their yard they do so and leave them unlocked with the keys in the ignition. It’s not a secure yard like you’ll see at some sites and it’s quite a small operation but even so.
I did try to tell a manager I felt that this was not a good thing to do but was told that was what they always did and they had security there. This i disbelieve as I had to ring someone to come and lock the gate after me.
Is it just me or does anyone else think this is A Bad Idea!
i wouldn’t worry about it mate, not your problem if 1 gets stolen.it’ll be theirs when the insurance company find out that the keys are left in the truck & then won’t pay out
dunno if its still the case or not, some years ago I worked for a rover garage in halesowen, Bells garage if anyone can remember it, it had 2 floor showroom, there was an incident where someone looking around a vehicle on the 1st floor actually tried to start it whilst in gear the car jumped forward luckily no serious damage but after that keys were taken out the cars and were kept locked, but after a visit from fire brigade the garage was told that keys need to be left in the vehicles in case of emergency and vehicles need to be moved quickly…
