One of our owner drivers got attacked by a lunatic van driver in a road rage incident, luckily the van driver “only” smashed up the cab and the side windows, but most of the attack including van reg was caught on the dash cam. He was caught and arrested, but we never found out if he got convicted.

A good indication of the intelligence of the average Mail reader can be found in the comments:Ben you need to get your highway code out mate, drivers joining the motorway DO have right of way and those in the nearside lane DO have to allow the cars in. Any good driver moves to the middle lane at junctions for this very reason.

Is that a serious comment ■■ Are people seriously that stupid ?
Yes they are, point them to this…
The Highway Code:
3. Joining the motorway (259)
259
Joining the motorway. When you join the motorway you will normally approach it from a road on the left (a slip road) or from an adjoining motorway. You should:
- give priority to traffic already on the motorway
- check the traffic on the motorway and match your speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane
- not cross solid white lines that separate lanes or use the hard shoulder
- stay on the slip road if it continues as an extra lane on the motorway
- remain in the left-hand lane long enough to adjust to the speed of traffic before considering overtaking.

It’s not difficult is it :S

First time I’ve seen it, but I’m a long way awayis it nice and hot there at the moment mate, it’s bloody grim here
Yes mate, it’s 'ot and 'umid and it gets on yer ■■■■ after a while, but it’s better than freezing 'em off. Bribie Island is a lovely place that we’ve retired to, but we’ve got the same muppets on the roads here.
Any good recommendations for a dash cam? I’ve had enough of the clowns on the road.
E-Prance make good quality cams.
I use an earlier version of that one ^^.
My E-Prance G1W Arrived today, only problem is the Wife wrapped it and I can’t have it till Xmas Day now

Is that a serious comment ■■ Are people seriously that stupid ? Sadly I think this is the case, cars clearly come pushing in from the nearside regardless of the fact another vehicle is already there, M1 Leicester Forrest East Northbound where the top of the 69 joins is a particularly bad one for exactly this kind of brain dead move…I lost count of the amount of times I have watched a car swerve at the last moment when they realise I am not moving, and yes, if the lane next to me is free and I can move I will move, else they can find their own way in.That is one of the most idiotic junction designs out there, those joining in the outside of the two slip lanes have nowhere to go, i always try and get over into the middle lane before the junctions meet at typical times, if you don’t you can guarantee an elephant racer with a speed of .000001mph faster than you will suddenly decide he’s got to get past you at exactly the wrong moment after following you all the way from Lutterworth without the slightest inclination of wanting to get by.
Good point about having your very own recorder as a driver from your post above, will have to give fitment a thought, i’m not the only one to drive it and removing refitting daily isn’t going to do the connectors much good.
Yer not wrong about the nobbers following all the way from Lutterworth lol…
I have a Pittasoft BlackVue DR500, and I custom made the standard mount which normally is a sticker non removable type into a strong suction cup type for easy switching between trucks…
Hot glue and a couple of small screws, job done…given the design of the case it means I can have one holder which is on the rubber suction for work, and the perma mount solution in my personal wheels, the main cylindrical camera slides in and out the mount via a release catch, nice design, and 1080p WiFi streaming , nice bit of kit.
@ Phantom Mark.
Thank for those pics (unusual lorry dashboard that ) will work out a similar solution when i get mine.

Mine and many others come with a suction cup mount anyway, also mine has a 4.3 screen so I can review anything at any time and also see the menu options, not saying the above mentioned cam isn’t any good, its just that there are other options out there
That’s my Sim Racing dashboard haha, I have played a Truck Sim on it before tho, does that count ?
There is tons of options, however, the first couple of years I bounced around various cheap solutions, they were either reasonable quality picture but poor quality parts and failed, or poor quality picture and made of stone, I have not had a single problem with that unit, yes it costs a bit, and I am sure there is a sweeter price point unit out there, but its worked every time flawlessly, and that is what I needed.
You can live stream to your phone via WiFi to setup the picture once installed, takes moments, you can also live stream over WiFi to make changes to the settings via the OS/Android app directly to the cam, or review recorded footage, very handy if you have an iPad like me for example, I was able to show on site with no delay a Tesco DC manager, and my TM when I got back to the yard after being cut up.

HGV driver is an idiot as well for driving in someone’s blindspot.
My sister in law had to attend a driver improvement course a while back following a shunt. She was fuming when she got back. The trainer told them that when on the motorway they should give way to traffic on the slip! All the people there were experienced drivers, including two HGVs and a taxi driver, they all argued with him but he was having none of it. I told SIL she should report it, but she’s not the sort, non-confrontational. I hope somebody did.

Trainer had a spare day between DCPC courses? Sounds about as much use as the chocolate teapot at the first module (and only with that lot) i attended.
