A mate of mine was driving behind the TTX vehicle in question some time last year & the manner it was being driven in was appalling (apparently). An email about the incident whitnessed was sent to someone at TTX who was said to be a manager & now it’s been involved in a serious collision…
A report on this story in the MEN says the bike came round the bend after the accident and ploughed into the Car.

That was Darlingtons wasnt it?
Turns out the lad on the motorbike is the best mate of my brother in law. He told the wife that the truck pulled out in front of the car from a side street, sending the car into his path. he couldn’t stop in time and collided with the car. The result was that he severed his left hand. Surgeons managed to re-attach it and he now has a metal plate in his wrist.

Have I read that bit right?
It looks like Heyside bends to me, Photo taken at Perth Street end towards Bullcote Lane Crossroads. The only side street is Hebron Street which will be out of shot to the right of the wagon as we look at the photo, you aint getting a wagon up Hebron Street

How’s that then? The trailer is in a straight line on the main road, the unit has presumably twitched right as the collision appears to have taken out the steering.I admit I don’t know Oldham, but I’ve had a look at Google Earth, where you can clearly see the collision site, the nearest side street is about 100 yards to the rear of the lorry. That lorry must have some acceleration to get out of the side street, get straightened up and collide with the car where it did! Great shame about the guy on the bike and I hope he recovers, but to my eyes it looks like the car and lorry met head on due to somebody being over the centre line.
