There are 2 fiestas next week Tuesday and Thursday so theres a ban leaving Madrid Friday afternoon and the following Sunday evening entering Madrid. I would think there are similar bans on other major cities.

DGT:

This is all it said, it didn’t go into any detail apart from around Madrid.

Nick.

no wonder we’re in crisis pull your socks up and get some work done
I’m tipping 2 john deere’s manzanares on monday then 1 in jaen load cordoba and go home til friday
wednesday off
Years ago,if the traffic was light, the old bill would turn a blind eye to truck movements, when they thought it was getting busy, they would flag you off the road in to a suitable holding pen with food and drink at the restaurant untill the ban ended, now it would be a fine,to contribute to the government coffers.
I drove home from work last Friday down the A4 and the traffic was no different than any other Friday. I think its just a tradition, the DGT have not taken into account the (economic) crisis, the cost of fuel and the 24% unemployed. If you brought this to the attention to the powers that be they would instead of removing the ban they would suggest that the truck ban should be every Friday and Sunday.
There was more traffic this Wednesday afternoon than last Friday and hence no truck ban
