Hey,
Anybody know of any truck accessory shops in or around the Edinburgh area?
I’m looking for some Extra large rigger gloves and some tacho accessories.
I know I can buy online but would rather go to a shop.
Thanks in advance

Not seen one, lived here for 20 years.
Buying online is usually cheaper anyway, the company will have less overheads

Cool thanks for the replies.
Can you recommend any particular websites??
Tacho discs and rolls from roadpro.co.uk in Daventry, they are very good and have all sorts of kit for truckers especially if you’re doing nights out.
Decent work gloves can be had from any workwear shop or engineers merchants/ Electrical wholesalers. I usually get leather riggers gloves from Costco.
Not exactly Edinburgh, but the filling station just up from malcolms in newhouse sells a lot of stuff.
You’d be lucky to find a truckers accessory shop in the whole of scotland never mind scummy Edinburgh

Not sure why you would want to buy these items? Tacho accessories■■?
Only option would be to wait till August and get it from Truckfest when it comes to Ingliston. Plenty of stalls to buy accessories there.
Excellent! Thanks very much I’ll take a look.

If I’m honest I’m not a truck driver but a coach driver So wanna keep my hands clean when fueling. As for the tacho accessorries I’m after something to keep the discs and print outs nice aand tidy

Thanks Okey-Didley-Dokely.
I got my first day on Monday so not sure quite what I will be doing (they do private hires, Scottish citylink and megabus work) so will be a good mix of driving. Got a contract until October so if they don’t continue it after that then I will be looking to do my class 2. Took my assessment drive 2 weeks ago and got a price so happy with that. Just got to get around to doing my theory test and CPC etc.
Used to work for First Bus but they decided to make me redundant .

TBH with you I want to get as far away from service work as much as possible and get onto the trucks. At least there is a little bit of freedom on the coaches.
You’d be better off in the coaches than trucks in Edinburgh, not much going round here and what there is is very poor pay

I’m suprised at that. There seemed to be quite a bit around, down towards the Borders and towards the west (Broxburn and the like). Would love to eventually get onto HGV recovery but thats going to be some time.
