Whats the general feeling of guns in canada compared to the US? Are you allowed to conceal carry?
Not that I’m aware of. They dont like hand guns in Canada, I’m not sure if they’re illegal but if they’re not they are very difficult to own and transport around. Its all about rifles in Canada and I would say that rifle ownership is a minority of people but I have no figures or real knowledge, I’m just going by what I see and I’ve been told by the Canadians I live around.
Americans can have hand guns in their cabs if they have all the correct licences and permits and so long as its not within reach and its not loaded while behind the wheel. I’m not sure how many truckers actually carry them but I’ve seen the odd one walking around with a pistol on his belt and a lot of warehouses, factories or coldstores etc have signs on the goods in/out door stating that drivers are not to bring fire arms in to the building. They obviously know that a driver who gets paid milleage rate isn’t going to be in a happy state of mind after being held hostage on a loading dock for 7 or 8 hours!
see i would have thought that having paid about 15 coin of the realm for the privilege of parking there it may be considered secure parking ,asking too much maybe

Just a thought why would you even consider confronting someone trying to break into your truck? that’s what goods in-transit insurance is for! your not a lot of good to your family when your lying in a pool of blood under the truck,no load is more valuable than your life!.If you see or hear something just ring the police.

just wait until your goods in transit insurer gets out of paying on a ■■■■■■■■ bit of small print - i’ve had a claim battle going on since july 07 thanks to this, if they had paid out immediately they could have paid out the smaller limited liability but no they came up with something my driver should have said to the firm when he got the job that he didnt and wouldnt ever have been expected to so they backed out on paying up! the bill i last heard was 300k plus all the costs of the various court cases up to now!! none of which i can afford to be involved in. the original job came from leman, they contracted it to davies freight that was and they gave it to my driver at the time - who woke to find the curtain mostly cut out!! so if i were to find someone messing with my truck or load, would i do something about? yes, and have done before!

but suerly if the police know its going on dont you think they would put a covert opperation on there.
mayby if a lot of these thieving scums got caught and reported in the media a lot of this would stop.

No ones disputing these events are very tragic but the fact is guns don’t kill its people that kill. Where strict gun controls have been put into place violent crime has gone up, where as a state like texas which is pro gun and has very relaxed rules crime is low. Its also hard to ignore that the UK has a far higher violent crime rated than the US simply because the average person has no means to defend themselfs and that goes back to my agrument that the law favors criminals! I’m not suggesting that we should be arming people with AR’s but there’s no reason why in the UK we shouldn’t be allowed to keep a loaded shotgun in the house and conceal carry a pistol.
my company won’t allow me to tackle any of the thieving scum.ring them up and let the insurance sort it out.

If you have a gun, then the thieves will have one too - and they are more likely than you to use it.
A farmers electric fence on the fuel tank will do the trick.
