To-day in köln before the german courts are 15 cases of non-payment of
maut or false bookings of the German maut,
These persons have all been apprehended by the BAG who have the role
in germany to ensure that all commercial road users that when useing the roads which are pay as you go (MAUT-ROAD:TAX) ;DO acctulally complie.
Ther 15 cases that are in the court are accused of one of the following points, Non-payment of maut, falseified bookings, mainly the wrong no of axles or the vehicle regerstration is wrong,wrong classification of vehicle
for example claiming EURO 3 motor when it is only EURO1;
tHIS IS THE FIRST time since the MAUT STARTED IN JAN -2005
and this may be a long case as who is the person responsible will the
driver or the owner be held to account, also the TRAFFIC-MINISTER has
stated that the level of the fines will be raised to levels higher thanat present to ensure that the persons who are caught ignoring the MAUT
will not do it again.

and that your ticket which is printed out has the right vehicle no.axles.

ADDED NOTE:- THE courts have ruled on the cases and of the 15 persons only two got let off, the others were ordered to pay fines rangeing from 150-175euros(aprox-100pounds), This means that the driver is to be held responsible when it concerns use of the MAUT-MACHINE;and the
OBU BY THE ENFORCEMENT authorities, so again this a call to be
extra carefull when booking or useing the SERVICES which are to do with the maut,
IF YOU HAVE A OBU unit in the vehicle and it becomes defect then YOU
must go and book your route straight away by useing the MAUT-MACHINES orby useing the INTERNET; —IF not when stopped and checked then you wil be taken before the courts or more than likely will have to pay a fine which can be up to at present 20.000 € (about-14.000-
pounds).THESE fines are in the process of being raised to a higher level.
