Evening people
Just wondering if anyone has worked for these or similar and what’s is it and they like■■? , I’ve fancied it for a while and have an interview next week…

Used to be a great job if you dont mind grafting… good money… unsocial hours
All there employees used to be self employed when I was in the game errr 20 years ago lol.
Still have several mates who are on the blacktop side… they all work as subcontractors for TC.

We used to work alongside them at times on resurfacing jobs, be prepared to work long hours and travel long distances as distance is no object to them! Plenty of out of hours work as well, the same as any other company doing that type of work.

If you are on the smaller planer gangs then expect to drive a 6 or 8 legger and drag… the planer will be moved by you on the drag from job to job. When at the job you will then work in conjunction with the planer moving the planings with the 6 or 8 legger.
If on the larger planer gangs then you will be moving that with an artic low loader… You could possibly then be required to either operate the planer or be a planing operative … which could be anything from being on the depth controls to being on an RB1 ( shovel 
)
I would be very surprised if you just get a job as just a truck driver with TC but this is possible… Most of the gangs work as teams tho so you would be expected to do any job that is required from marking out, driving the machines to making the tea.
Its like Pete said… Long hours… long distances… mostly night work… and it is hard work but well paid.
Its many years since I was on the gangs and it wasnt a job it was a way of life…

One other tip, on a lot of surfacing gangs the lads are all members of the same family so if you fall out with one you also upset his brother, uncle, nephew, father etc!

Thanks for the reply guys , there after a tipper and drag driver so it’s what I thought regarding the work , I’ll let you know my decisions tomorrow
