Hi everybody,
We are 2 Swiss trucks leaving on the 9th of march for Iran via GR / Ipsala, then Istanbul, Ankara (maybe), border crossing in Gurbulak / Bazargan.
Just wondering if any forum reader as made the journey recently and can privide some advise!

Ferdy, first of all,have a great trip, wish it was me!! Im sure we will see the pic etc on Toprun!!
We have a trucknet member by the name of toureg123. He said he had recently sent stuff to the Afghanistahn border via Iran, maybe he can give you some advise if you PM him??

Ferdy, we dont do the iranian leg now ,if going to Gurbalak you can use the top transit route via Merzifon , they used to make you go this way but not so good roads and busy with Iranian transit trucks ,best is Ankara- Sivas- to Ezurum more motorway . Have good guy in Bazargan who can help with Customs and translate , its best to use him ,alot of guys when you go though the gate will offer thier services and want your papers before you get down the hill they tout for agents its best to pre-arrange . PM if you need the guys number .

i just learn that we will arrive in Iran right on the newyears day (21th)… it seems that everything stops for 2 weeks!..
for sure you will see the photos on toprun in may .-)
