Hi guys

My mate was on that trip and he has many photos of that and many other
trips out east! I hope he learns how to work a computer in the next 10 years
so we get to see them!!!

is that mr diamond then colin? how is he, i don’t seem to have an up-to-date mobile number for him

Hi JJ

Thats KD and hes doing just grand, bit like myself as he just has
fantasies about faraway shores now. Im sure he might share some
photos but he has been telling me that for years now :unamused:

How about “helping your mate out”, and show him how to work a computer.

:bulb: You could use some of his collection of “photos from that and many other trips out east!”,
for demonstration purposes :sunglasses:

British trucks have been to Irkutsk, Gordon Jones did a trip there when I worked for Kepstowe.

I went to the edge of Siberia in the mid-90s but there weren’t digital cameras then so I have no photos and I doubt that many of the drivers who went there at the time did either…

good to hear - he’s probably bored of the scaffolding i imagine! i’ve got all kev’s photos from the trip on disc as it happens but a) they’re not mine to post b) i have a nervous breakdown every time i try post a photo and c) as i said before i’d rather save them up for “the book”

neither did the guys who did the Middle East in the 70’s, but there are still plenty of pictures. Infact you tend to get more pictures of trips like that than from the millions of drivers doing local deliveries, simply because it’s more of an adventure.

Hi jj,

He is enjoying the scaffolding as he is making four times as much a week as
he would on the trucks!! I was just chatting to him and happened to mention
the forum and said to him to put some photos of his kazak trip with Bob May
on and i hope he gets round to it as it shows the splendor of real ice road
truckers!!

I tried to get some pictures off Bob too. I have seen them, but Bob is still learning how to text

Hi Wheelnut,

I think you could be right there■■? He does have some good photos of that
trip to Astana tho. I think one of Willie Lambies was with them aswell if my
memory stands me right!

i could’ve sworn i posted a reply to this yesterday but now it’s gone  the photos i took were at the beginning of the trip, i didn’t go far on this particular jaunt, just organised it - but there again, sherlock, nowhere did i claim to have, so your point is? :unamused:

Oh yes, I have hundreds of photos from my time in Russia but on some trips, particularly towards the end when the novelty had worn very thin, I didn’t take a camera.

When I get my new pc I’ll get a scanner and post some if you want.

Hi Harry

Be nice to see any photos you have

hi harry,

sherlock here, please post some of you photos asap because this thread has been waiting for some for six years!, jj has the ball and he wont let anyone play with it. PMSL
