Trip to IRKUTSK

Carl:
i,ll ask him about the bikes malc as im into bikes meself what series do they race in

They were sponsoring a lad in MRO who has moved up to BSB Superstock. I think it was the fitter who worked for Hoggs.

I know they had some success in 125 on the TT

i’ve got about 90 photos on cd-rom taken by me and 2 of the other lads - but you’ll have to wait for my book - planned for around 2010

Spoil-sport :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

Post some of your photos at least.

JB, in all seriousness…is there any chance of getting your mate to post some pics up of the trip? (if there are any)

Cheers, bullitt.

did any photos ever materialise for this trip?

Driveroneuk:

not on here they didn’t - told you the book will be out around xmas 2010

saw these 2 at asten truckstop a couple of weeks ago. quite why jj72 said no one goes to russia anymore is a bit daft, we have had over 60 trucks go there this year…

i remember seeing a pic of a hogspeed in saudia ( i think?) with a portakabin on the back, they certainly go the distance. apart from the allegations of ■■■■■■■■, this thread has been an interesting read, what a trip to undertake!

Thanks matt. I thought it was interesting at the time.
Rob works with me on Stobarts now, ive seen the pictures of the trip he took(not many to be honest) and the chances of getting them on here are slim at the moment(im on the club-see the health forum :frowning:  ).
I think jj took exception to me posting about the trip but have no idea why?
Unless Robs pulling my leg he went…
Another ex Rh(and IMR) drivers on there now called Sean-i dont know him but a few of my mates do-maybe ill try and find out some more exotic journeys hes doing?

christ let’s bury this once and for all - yes this was my job, yes hogg were one of the hauliers who i sent, yes rob bradley JB’s mate went (whole other story there), yes i was just ■■■■■■■ about pretending that i knew nothing and saying nobody went there any more - RIGHT can we let it drop now please? sheeesh

   Keep your knickers on jj
Its not ME who keeps bringing the post back to life
Why dont you just let it go… lifes too short

not really JB, looking back it was you, then carl, then driveroneuk  if you’re inferring that I somehow bump it back up, that theory rather falls on it’s arse :unamused:

if you’ve too much time on your hands do something useful with it mate :grimacing:

Perhaps it’s time you two called a truce?

Hoggsped do indeed go to Russia, as do a handful of other British companies. I myself have turned down three trips to Russia this year due to other commitments.

It is true that British companies do not do general haulage work which can be replicated for half the price by Russian companies, but there is still a niche market for specialised transporters, and there are still customers prepared to pay the price for their ÂŁ5,000,000 concept car to be delivered to the testing ground without turning up three weeks late and with 24 tonnes of groupage sitting on top of it.
