I suggest a call to DVLA & MEDICAL 01792 782 341
I had the treadmill test last October for the same reason.I started doing walks. Then included ones with hills in.It was the longest nine min of my life but I passed it.My next medical is when I,m 50 they havent shortened the period for medicals with me.I must have done better than I thought.Speak to your doctor they will have a better idea they know you better than anyone hopefully.
i was told i would have too, 3 months before the 3 years is up
can i ask did you already have a driving job before your heart attack or did you apply after if so was it made difficult to get a job due to your health
thanks
thanks to all that have replied. i will ring dvla as suggested. yes i did have a driving job before my heart attack but not on class 2. ive not found it hard getting a job due to health reasons just as most on here due to lack of experiance, even more so now i have c&e.
This was a big worry for me earlier this year. I took a voluntary treadmill test after my brother died of a heart attack and I had a few scares which are still ongoing.
However the cardioligist was quite happy with my results. When i asked if I would need to do this again, he said no! why? Do you want to have a heart attack
I didnt do the full 9 minutes as another disability prevented that but as I have never suffered from angina or heart failure, the DVLA do not have to be advised.
That nine minutes is an amazing experiance! I put my hands over the bar and if I felt I was slipping I held with my wrists .My heartbeat went above 150 beats a minute the light flashed red ,but I must have recovered quick enough.as that is a factor for Angina. They asked if I waws okay.Like I was going to say no my heart is bursting out of my chest I cant breath and my left arm has a bruise from the pain.

I got the same sensations, blood pressure was up above 200 and it was my diseased hip that gave out before me expiring on the floor
I told my friend about this and he laughed as he had recently done a 25 minute treadmill test to renew his RAC competion licence.
