Travelling to ni through wales dublin

Hi folks . We are moving to northern ireland as we have bought a house there. Have been moving stuff over with my landrover and trailer our daughter has started school in armagh. Just wondering if police are turning people away in wales or ireland now? I was last over 3 weeks ago . Thanks for any advice

As long as you have a good reason for travelling I think you’ll be ok still plenty of cars heading for Holyhead/ Dublin didn’t see any checkpoints on Sunday heading for Holyhead. There is a permanent Garda checkpoint on the M1 from Dublin to Belfast just before Drogheda, as long as you have fill out the Irish Covid form you’ll be ok, but it will take about 30 minutes to get through at peak times. No checkpoints as you cross the border at Newry heading north but there is one if you’re heading south.

Thanks for that . Been travelling on the early hours ferries on a next day return to keep the cost down .thought i might be able to hire a class 2 to do the whole move in 1 go but nobody will rent me one to go to ni

Without an O licence you’ll find it hard to rent a truck yourself. Your own private use make make it legal not to have one, but rental companies aren’t very interested.
