Travelling times / disances in Ireland?

Hi Chaps
I’ve got a question on behalf of a friend of mine :
Starting in Dublin - Can 2 drops Dublin, 1 drop Limerick, 1 drop cork and back up to Dublin be legally done in driving hrs in one day ■■?
I did check it out for him on the auto route but thought it best to ask guys who actually do this area by truck !!

Any help would be much appreciated as always !!!

It should be possible, depending on where the drops are in Dublin. The route is nearly all good roads, but it is a lot of single carraigeway. If your friend sticks to 40mph, then there is no chance.

Dublin-Limerick-Cork-Dublin should take about 8 hours, and probably another hour travelling within Dublin.

I agree with Hertz. At 40mph, ie legally, no. At 50ish, it should be no problem.
Once you get about 20 miles(ish) from Dublin, the road becomes single carraigeway, with hard shoulder for a lot of it.
As in the UK, I usually drive at just below 50mph, on good wide single carraigeway roads. So do most other trucks (in fact 50 is a bit slow for most of them :unamused: ). Also, normal procedure is for slower vehicles to pull onto the hard shoulder to allow faster vehicles safe overtaking. Some drivers don’t pull over until your truck pulls out to start the overtake, your friend needs to be aware of these conventions as well.

Where is your friend shipping from and to?

You haven,t got a hope of doing that in one day. The roads might be good but around Dublin at the wrong time of day and you might as well be parked up.
