Transporting my own car or caravan

Hello all,
i read and google about laws in uk for recovering and transporting cars but i have still some doubts.
I have a truck that is under 3.5 t and what i can understand is that i can recover a brocken wehicle without no o-licence.
But what i want to know is…
Can i transport my own car or my own caravan upper the truck without a o-license ? if the answer is no, what documents i need ?
And how much kg i can tow? (i have all the categories of the driver license c+e)
Thanks for everybody that will help me. :sunglasses:

You can only recover a broken down car. If it is not broken down, you are transporting it.
You can recover an accident damaged car from scene of accident to repair shop or to base. If to base then the onward journey to repair shop is transporting it.
Same applies to a caravan
Have fun

No O licence or driving regs when doing private towing
B+E required which is covered by your C+E

Find the weight plate on the vehicle and tell me the top two figures of the four listed

Look in handbook or on V5 keepers doc and see if any maximum towing weight is listed

What vehicle is it? = exact model please

Hello again,
Yes, but if the car is mine what is the problem ?
Or for law it doesn’t matter if the car is yours or not  ?
why i can’t load my own caravan upper my truck ?
My truck is a mercedes sprinter 308 d 2.3
i don’t have the documents for it now near me, but i think that i tow my caravan that is 1300 ?
my car weight is like 2200

Is that your vehicle?

If yes then
Gross Train Weight 5500
Gross Vehicle Weight 3500
Max. Towing Weight - Braked 2000

You can tow a max actual weight of 2000

If the towing is being done commercially then it comes under regulations
If the towing is being done privately then its exempt regulations
Who owns what makes no difference to the above

Yes, it is.
Thanks very much

Your own car would need to be on a car transporter trailer

ROG:
Your own car would need to be on a car transporter trailer

Which weigh about 800kg for the purposes of the OPs calculations.
