transport manager

The recent ruling on the appeal by Uber (Re: Uber drivers are workers not self-employed) may have concequences for external transport managers who have signed an employment agreement and have effective and continuous control over the business.

Dont understand your point.

Dont external transport managers usually have more than one client?
Also if they signed some employment agreement to have continuous control over the business are they still classed as an external transport manager?

Optimum:

This ruling means that Uber drivers will have a choice of being self employed or employed. Im not sure what direction you are heading because you can be a self employed Transport Manager with more than 1 client, so this ruling will not affect the exampe you have given.
Or am i missing something?

If you only work for one company you might have problems with IR35 and heing classified as self employed by HMRC, but can’t see how the Uber case affects anything.

That was just the drivers saying they were employed and Uber saying no you’re not.

Not too sure how people can be external transport manager for more than maybe 2-3 companies going by what I’ve read as responsibilities, but thats between them and the TC, not HMRC.
