Transit Job Tomorrow

Going to be driving a transit tomorrow. This may seem like a daft question but do I have to take regulation break times etc if no tacho installed?

who’s gonna know

Just enjoy the day - take breakfast then early lunch followed by proper lunch and an afternoon break then roll into the yard moaning what a hard day you have had

You can only do Transit work until you pass Class 1. After that, you have to puff your chest out and exclaim loudly ‘I ain’t doing that, I’m class 1’ along with suitable expletives.
Joking aside, enjoy your day in the Transit. :grimacing:

just remember that when reversing, when you turn the steering left the van will go left lol

there was a Tacho in it but the company said it ‘did not work’ and not to use it

on my return the girl asked if i took a break. I said no. (she told me in the morning that they closed at 5pm so I needed to be back by then)

Got back on time. She said well done and said would contact the agency so I would be paid for the whole day as did not take a meaningful break. Will i get in bother off the agency for not taking a break in the transit??

It’s the WTD regs I think, so you need a hour break after 6 hours, it probably had a tacho because of a tow bar. But don’t worry about ‘normal’ driving hours breaks. Just treat it as ‘other work’

Don’t think he falls under the WTD unless he actually drives trucks or buses as part of his other work with the company? Could be wrong though. We run Sprinters and don’t take any proper breaks, you don’t need to.

As long as you comply to the domestic driving regs   yep they do exist

But remember if you have used a tach in the week you are under those regs

Not sure which regs it is, but you should take a break after 6 hours of any type of work in all the jobs I’ve ever worked, driving and non driving. Doesn’t always work with driving though
