If you mean you downloaded it, copy the downloaded file from its current location and burn it to disk. For example, I use Firefox and have all downloads put on my Desktop so they’re easy to find; once i’ve installed/copied/saved them etc I remove them from the desktop to keep it ‘clutter free’.
Depending on ‘how clever’ the downloaded app is, a ‘straightforward copy’ might not be that straightforward!! If this is the case then you need a program such as Clone (CD or DVD) to make a bootable disk copy i.e. an exact copy of the [downloaded] disk as opposed to just copying the actual data.
Mmmm, the above even confuses me to read it back, but I know what I mean!! It isn’t that difficult TBH.
If your using Winxp just drag it to your cd-rom and it will burn it when you put a disc in, just follow the instructions.

But then it’s not guarenteed to be a bootable CD. It may just hold the data files for the game, which isn’t the same.
Marcus I think you may be confusing a bootable CD (for starting a PC without using the installed operating system) with a Cd that autoruns when put in the drive.
If Britmark has been able to install what he downloaded by running a setup.exe or setup.msi file, then burning the entire folder to CD that he has downloaded will be enough for him to have a copy of it.

I’m not confusing this with an OS disk, although the same would apply. Granted, I’m not explaining this very well but I can give you an example;
I have a CD (progarmme) that I wanted to make a ‘backup copy’ of. I opened the CD drive and burned the contents to a blank disk - result was the CD wouldn’t work.
I then used Clone CD to make an exact copy of the original disk and it worked!! Clone doesn’t just copy across the data - it makes an exacr copy of the original disk, which is different to just copying the data.
Probably still as clear as mud!!

I can see what your saying, having made many new beer (or coffee) mats myself.

The reason that the disc created with Clone CD worked was probably because the original disc was copy right protected and Clone CD was able to beat the protection, how to make a downloaded game autorun depends on what files were downloaded, if it was one .exe file such as “Setup.exe” you would create a file with notepad named “autorun.inf” the only text in this file would read :
[AUTORUN]
OPEN=Setup.exe
this file would then be burned as data along with the exe file, but to simply save a copy of the game just burn it to disc as data.

Correct, Alchohol 120% is better than clone cd again, does practically everything.

If you have paid for & d/loaded the game then the usual method is for you to register & be supplied with a key code or similar. If thats the case then all you need to do is to burn the folder you d/loaded to disc using any burning program. As long as you keep the key safe you should be able to re-install it.
The game is very unlikely to have any protection other than the key code.
On most games the actual disc protection systems (securerom, safedisc etc) cannot be copied, alcohol 120 & clone work by defeating the protection which is why some “ripped” games need a crack or patch to work.
What game is it? As irrespective there should be some code, registration or similar that you receive allowing you access and should you decide to re-install just download the game again and input your code. I do not see why you need to save it to disk for safe keeping.
Just make sure you keep a copy of the code on removable disk or something, even if you hand write it on a bit of paper…
