Gas in the cab is fine. I’ve been keeping it in the cab for 10 years and I’m still here. What do you do at home? Turn the gas off at the main stopcock every time you’ve finished using it. Also in most modern lorries the side locker pretty much is same as being in the cab.

I hear you Luke. It was just always an old international drivers rule of thumb that 99% of us stuck by. My fridge and electric kettle are all I need now tbh as I’m only out monday-friday. By side locker I meant trailer box/locker kitchen or whatever you prefer to call it. Mind you trailer swaps were rare in those days and when they did occur you moved “kitchen” too lol!
