Our start times are anywhere between 2200 and 0300 generally. I always try to get the 3 reductions out of the way as early as possible in the week so I don’t end up working a 15 for my last shift, we are paid day rate not hourly.
Do you not try and keep one so you have more time to get back on a friday or so you can start earlier on a saturday to run in?
No, they work us to our shift times and will always come and pick us up in the rare occasion that we run out of time. If we have a 15 then they work us to a 15, if we have only 13’s then they only work us to a 13. Its the boss wanting his money’s worth at the end of the day but without running bent.

I didn’t say it wasn’t for me, although I did express a certain scepticism…you jumped to that conclusion because I questioned someone’s views. I am interested in why people do it. Incidentally a couple of answers were actually really quite useful. (Not the ones with pictures of places people visit once every three months, if they’re lucky!) No need to ‘loose’ (sic) the ‘attitude’ as there isn’t one.
Perhaps if I litter my comments in future with spelling errors and grammatical abominations, I may receive more information. (now that’s snotty!! )

Hold on fella, i posted a link to one of my trips, and said that was my reason to tramp. To be honest with you if you don’t want to or understand “tramping” then no worries,I don’t understand why you guys do day work or night work, it suits your lifestyle.no problem. tramping suits mine and many other’s. it’s each to their own.
