Personally I’d just use the gas cooker.
This what I do - and would do if i worked for them
The problem there is because he has to sign a form stating he wont use a gas cooker inside the truck. Should someone at the firm discover the cooker (in the cab, side locker etc) while hes off, theyll put 2+2 together, hell be in the brown stuff
DonutUK:
How much am i looking at for a 907 gas cylinder?
Seen one for £74.99…must be cheaper than that?
Go Outdoors is your place, they are expensive to start as you pay a deposit set by Camping Gaz but once you have it refills are £20. And once you no longer need the bottle you get the deposit back. It’s actually the cheapest way to do it, well short of having a massive Calor Gas bottle in the lorry like my Dad used to!
You only get the money back on the bottle IF you keep the receipt , no receipt no cash back . I used to work for Calor gas and have told the customer this loads of times …
Get your self down the local tip/dump thell sell you an empty bottle for a £5, also told customers this a few times aswell …

They didn’t say i couldn’t have one…they just said i couldn’t use it in the cab…they were happy for me to carry one as long as i cook outside.
I have a large rucksack that should hold the cylinder anyway…i don’t exactly intend to parade it across the yard on my first morning!
To be honest, the ways are looking, i’ll be going in Monday without any cooking gear as i am struggling to find somewhere that sells the cylinders near me…!
If your coming back via the M20 come off at the black lorry sign for Lenham, follow that and on the A20 about a mile up there’s a huge lay by with a lovely little pub on the end of it park in there, the foods spot on although a little pricey then you won’t need to cook in the truck.
gezt:
24 volt lecy oven £30/£35 quid, wire to anderson lead and run engine whilst cooking, no worries
What do i do if i haven’t got Anderson leads?
I know there aren’t any tail lift trailers…so would there be Anderson Leads?
You could buy one.
And connect it to what if the fleet does not run with tail lifts? He might be able to persuade the company to fit a power take off for an oven, unlikely before Monday and down the road. If the company doesn’t like fridges running continuous because of fuel consumption I wouldn’t have thought running the engine while cooking is going to go down to well either.

Not really, he’s been told not to USE it inside and was even advised to cook outside his truck meaning it’s ok to carry it
Nearest store to me, Wolverhampton, is out of stock.
Just doing the sums, not sure i can afford to spend £50+ on the burner & bottle just yet…been unemployed for best part of 2 months…don’t have a lot of reserve cash behind me!
Might just get a cheaper cartridge burner just to tide me over, at least i will be able to boil a kettle, do some soup, fry up etc!
Luke, if your ever passing bodelwyddan on route to/from Holyhead there is a calor gas dealer next to a55. Can park right outside it. I get my 907’s there myself.
