Owner Drivers work as many hours as they can get away with.
Employed drivers work as few hours as they can get away with.
It was ever thus. Employed drivers trying to emulate Owner Drivers are what every employer wants.
But trucks have beds, drivers have alarm clocks, no point in getting out of bed before 10hrs sleep is up unless the rewards make it worth it.
