tried the day work and hated it, suppose over the 20 years I have been driving 15 have been tramping, even when I did agency when I first started I did most of their tramping work, just like being my own boss really and left to get on with it really

30yrs long haul 21yrs european n.africa 9yrs coast to coast canada u.s.a. just moved back still want tramping no day work

Steve Jones.I was an o/d for British International,Garnett Eurotrans and Freight Transfer.
I had a white Daf 310 with a yellow roof then an ex Peter Gilder 142 then a green 142.
Animal drove for BI.

Been tramping since I started in this game in 05 and still enjoy doing it now as much as I did when I first started out. Only time I haven’t been tramping was when I was off on the sick for 6 months with my eye problems and the 6 month it took to get my licence back from the DVLA.
I did nights for 3 month when I started back as there weren’t any spare trucks but couldn’t wait to get back tramping. I think tramping is a way of live and you either love it or hate it.

I’m still relatively new to it but love it- I mean whats the point going home for 11 or 9 hours in the week just to get under the wifes feet when I can have true quality time the weekend and get me legover every week…yes I’m talking smashin the wifes back doors in wiv all the trimmings etc and stuff .
I mean me todger is like chuffin catnip to the missus’s ■■■■■ (probably TMI and a hint of showing off)
