Tramping Essentials

Have you got your own truck■■?
If so kit the cab out like it’s your house, proper bedding is a must.
Make sure every cupboard is used to put stuff away don’t clutter your cab…
Stove is essential,as is kettle for stove and food for if your stuck etc,
When I was tramping some drivers couldn’t believe the food I knocked up on a little camping stove,as they waddled back from McDonald’s with another bag full of ■■■■■ because they were too lazy to organise there own food…
Tramping if done right can be fun and quite comfortable,

Hahaha great feed back guys thanks…

im looking at buying two 20 litre jerry cans for water or is that to much?.. but where to put them maybe cable tie them to the unit or leave them in the passenger footwell ?

TBH a few litre-bottles as you go along do the trick and it isn’t exactly going to break the bank! In hot weather loose water actually goes off pretty quickly. Robert

How does water go off considering we’ve all been using the same stuff since time began ?

Job done

Asda bag to crap in…preferably whilst in your ‘‘tin box’’.

Don’t use ASDA carrier bags, they have holes in them, ALDI or LIDL carrier bags are better

That’s the reason we got strong polythene bags from the ferries, buy 200 ■■■■ and take 10 bags, every lorry you passed had a rubbish bag hung on the dashboard or passenger arm rest, no rubbish chucked from the window

Once bottled water is opened any bacteria from your mouth and hands grows quickly in the greenhouse atmosphere of the bottle

No it don’t.
Chlorine kills it

I’ll go with that, it only becomes a complete pain in the ■■■■ if you let em run you ragged to last minute where you are forced to park in some ■■■■ lay by where there is ■■■■ all around, or to do for your 8 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds when you start the whole ■■■■ rat race again with indigestion after your last night’s ■■■■ Burger King or such crap.

Don’t treat the job as some work related endurance excercise it’s only as good a life or as crap an existence as YOU make it. :bulb:

I did’'t think they put chlorine in bottled water :open_mouth: !

EDIT. Sorry, I probably haven’t made myself clear! I used to keep a big canister of tap water in the cab for general use; ie boiling for tea, washing in etc, but kept bottled water for drinking
