Took the plunge and went to the co-op for my weekly shop, didn’t expect to get much but was pleasantly surprised.
Firstly this 2 metre distance thing is tricky in a supermarket so the unspoken rule is we all ok just do your best but don’t cough ffs and give elderly a wide berth.
If aisle looks crowed take a long detour which is what we do for a living anyway. I’m a particular fan of diverting via the back passage but that’s another topic.
Usually week on week I buy the same stuff but had to get creative due to 1 item of each rule and low stocks.
I’d say 70% of the items I’d usually buy are available (rubber gloves/ham/a-nal lube etc) but struggled with longer life milk so gonna try this hedgehog milk stuff or whatever it is they have dusted off that no one buys.
Also slipped in a tin of beans & sausages for emergencies and my usual special offer of 4 tins of soup for £3 was swapped for just 1tin as special offer or not I’d feel a right c&&t at the checkout with 4.
Hopefully I can slip into the odd MSA in the week for single items here and there overpriced or not needs must.
So don’t panic shops will recover as things will settle a bit.
Got the wife to go back in for 3 bottles of vodka though
