Tramlines on Motorways

The E17 from gent to Antwerpen took some beating for tram lines

Socketset:
Funny thing is, I don’t ever remember seeing them in France, Italy or Greece or the US if it comes to that - maybe everyone else puts in a better substrate than we do.

Does anybody remember the concrete motorway sections in the sixties and seventies with horrendous tyre noise that was so bad that they erected signs because drivers were pulling over thinking they had diff failures.

There’s still a section of the M58 (I Think) into Liverpool that has that in. Instantly you think all the wheel bearings have exploded.

How long do we all think the fresh overnight repairs to the A1N at Bramham will last before it’s in tatters again? :unamused: It’s that bad along there both northbound and southbound that you have to straddle the white line between lane 1 and 2 to keep the suspension intact.
