Training so far

Started my Class 2 training Tuesday this week, and loving it so far

First day was pretty much getting use to the vehicle, scania 4 over 4 rigid. Took me a while to get the gear box figured out, stalled it a few times but over all went well, picked up on my faults and mistakes and made it my goal to eradicate them for day 2.

Wednesday was much of the same, although the gear changes were much better, few mishaps where i clipped the switch and ended up in the wrong ratio, trying to pull away in 8th doesn’t work well! My forward planning was miles better and the mistakes i made on day 1 were pretty much all gone. Also did reversing which I found really easy. First attempt i got in the box fine but was a little wonky. Second attempt was near perfect and 3rd was bang on stopped bang on the half way mark in the shevron box

Starting at 12:30 today and plan on ironing on the gear box issues totally, my test is tomorrow morning at 10:30 and i am confident that i will do ok so far

Hi there madmossy!

Seems like you’re getting on ok. Keep it up and enjoy it while you can! Good Luck with the test tomorrow morning.

Cheers,

Day 3 went great, no issues other than minor mistakes which weren’t a problem. Test is at 10:30 today looking forward to getting over and done with

Good Luck with your test

I have all this to come in 3 weeks

Good luck today , im sure everything will go well

I bet you are chewing your nails right now.

Best of luck

Well , how did it then? :sunglasses:

I ballsed up on the test, knew right away I had failed, even though at the end of it, I had only 2 minors, the failure was thanks to a dodgy junction with filter lights.

The stress and nervousness of a test resulted in me not thinking right and panicking, something I wouldn’t normally do.

The junction itself was a right hand turn with a filter lane and light. 2 cars were waiting to turn already, I held back behind the line at the lights. They both moved away, so I moved forward expecting the filter light to come on like it has done the dozen or so times I did that junction this week. It didn’t the light turned red and I cocked up. Instead of just going like I would do normally if were in a car or faster vehicle. I stopped. I knew right away I should have continued but it was too late and that was that really. I did think the fail was a bit harsh though considering my driving had been near faultless for the entire test. It must have been clear to the examiner that I was nervous.

Thankfully there was a cancellation for Wednesday this week so I can give it a go again and this time hopefully pass.

With 2 minors that was just a bit of bad luck on what sounds like a good test.

Best of luck for the retest.

Sorry to hear that mate. Those nerves get the better of all of us, you’re not alone there.

Hope you got on better today with the re-test. :sunglasses:

Who did you train with ?

.

Oh dear, I’m sadly guessing that it was another fail…given the lack of a reply. :frowning:

Either that or he celebrated so hard, he is still recouperating his liver.
