I have just booked cat c training for 2 weeks time and on the drive home from my assessment today thought of a couple of questions.
there are lot of loose grit 20mph signs about at the moment where resurfacing has taken place, presumably if I came across one of these on a test I would be expected to hold to the 20mph limit although the general concensus I see on the roads is to ignore these limits.
will I be expected to be wearing high vis during my test? how about safety shoes / boots? this is just for the class c assessment as I need to do periodic cpc.

The DSA examiners like to see recommended limits adhered to - not realistic in many cases but that’s what they want
Hi viz when your feet are on the ground - not recommended in cab as it can cause a reflection in the windscreen especially if sun comes into cab
Temp speed limits: use your loaf. If its marked at 20mph but it’s clearly a sign that is out of date, drive at a sensible speed pointing out to the examiner that it makes no sense. But, clearly, if appropriate, drive to the speed limit marked.

I wore my safety boots during my training and on test, figured I’d wear the same things as I would if I was working but I saw another young bloke training for i think c1 who was wearing flip flops!
Thanks for your answers everyone, it is all starting to happen now after weeks waiting for provisional licence and then theory test, I have a weeks cpc starting tomorrow then a weeks class c training. Would of preferred the other way round but never mind.

i’m a new driver but have c1 entitlement due to taking my car test before 1997, hence the 35 hours periodic cpc rather than mod 2 and 4.
