Training Near Cannock!

I’m currently looking at two trainers near Cannock. British HGV and Grants of Cannock.
Anybody familiar with either of them or had experience. I’ve got assessments booked with both but thought I’d ask !

Thanks in advance !

Hi Willym73,

The list I linked to above is a list of recommended LGV providers, who only get onto that list if they get recommended by TNUK members when they’ve received a good service at a good price. In that way, all of the providers come by personal referral.

As always, the advice is that you personally visit several providers, look at the vehicles and speak to the instructors to help you decide which provider suits you best, BEFORE parting with your money.

Thanks for all the info guys !

Had assessment with grants today and have one with British in the morning !

All i can say is … I’m hooked !!!

Can’t wait to get started now

hi Willym welcome to the forum. I don’t know any thing about these to training companies, apart for the fact that British HGV have some new trucks. I took my cat c at Featherstone 5 years ago with a Wolverhampton based trainer. I would not recomend him.
However a passed my c+e this easter with an excelent training company. Peter Smythe Transport Training in Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts
I wish I had known how much better this company was 5 years ago.
They have modern well maintained trucks, and won"t shout at you.
To me the reason I booked with them was becase they have a private test centre, which is also where your training takes place. So you will practice reversing on the same bit of concrete that you test will be conducted on.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Had an assessment Sunday with Grants and Monday with British HGV. Wasn’t really alot between them apart from British could get me in last week. So went with them, was a very enjoyable eye opening week, topped off with Passing my C test yesterday. Will going straight into my CE training as soon as my Licence is back
