Training days for stobarts

Hi

Does anyone know what you get paid for the 2 days inductions for stobarts at widnes?

Also do you have to work a week in hand? questions that should of been asked at interview but never did

Cheers

I think you just get basic hours and pretty sure it’s fortnightly pay so depending if it’s pay week, you might have to do 3 weeks in hand?

I did my training days at Appleton a couple of years ago, but I was (and am) agency, so didn’t get anything for it except a meal voucher off Stobarts for use in the ‘restaurant’

thought that would be the case with working in hand just wanted to make sure I would have been paid before all the bills went out.

wanting to find out what an average day driver would take home a fortnight?

If your profile picture is anything to go by you’d be lucky if you ever took anyone home lol.

youll never get a average because some like to do 40 hrs[get gauranteed 50 hrs[45 at moment],then others like to do 70/80 hrs   ,a driver who does mon-fri 40 hrs is never going to earn the same as a driver doing 70/80 hrs over the weekend, then a driver who start at 7 a.m isnt going to earn the same as the driver who start at 1 a.m[different rates],then some get f/b,some dont, some work o/t,some wouldnt dream of working 6 days[8 hrs for 5 days is enough,i very rarely take home less than £500 ,but i work w/ends/,o/t,silly oclock starts etc, etc, if you do 40 hrs aweek,no o/t,7 a.m starts,mon-fri ive no doubt youd earn about £400 net,but working shifts your doing,w/ends ,60 hrs id expect your net to be about a ton more,

I worked at Widnes for about 18 months and yes you get paid for the induction, and it is week in hand and fortnightly pay so you may have to wait up to 3 weeks as stated by wayne…good luck

Well I am wanting as much overtime as I can get. :stuck_out_tongue:

I originally wanted nights so as to be at home in the day with the family, but they have no night shifts available.
The ops manager did say he would do his best to put me on an early start time, 1am/3am sort of time, until a nights position comes up, whether that will come off i dont know. would be nice if it did.

I am looking forward to starting, I just hope it pays well enough

That haribo sounds like a rate money grabber lol

Not sure where you live, but they’re struggling for night drivers at the SCA depot in Trafford Park, even tried to get me to do some, even though I told them that I fall asleep at the wheel on nights, got the ‘it’s nights or nothing’ speech, I chose nothing, rather live poor than end up in a ditch

I could really do with a nights position. would suit family life to a T. Just hope something comes up and i am able to transfer to it.

I was based at goole three years ago and started on days before i went tramping.Did tues to sat on days and took about 400 home for 60 hours roughly before all the morons come on saying you cant have cos the hourly rate is this this and this.Did my three days training at crick where they gave us a car to go in paid for the hotel and the evening meal and two drinks.Got my normal hourly rate for the eight hours per day in the class room.
