I am now on probation for two years, 6 points or more on my license and I have to take it all over again, so this is enabling me to make my mind up to take my C+E as soon as, so they can run concurrently…And with the CPC aspect coming in next September.
Err who gave you the false info about the 6 points rule ?
That is for new B licence drivers.
The rules for doing C+E will not change from Sept 2009 - only C (or C1)

So I do not have to worry until I have 12 points then…I have never had a point on my licences (God, that`s probably jinxed it!)■■?
I am now concerned that I have been given the wrong advice…

Even if you got say 12 points for speeding (naughty) and got a 12 month ban - that would still not mean a retest.
A restest for LGV would come from the Traffic Commissioner and then only in exceptional circumstances.

You have PM
Thanks for the clarification on that point, much appreciated.
however if you pass your hgv or pcv within the 2yr period of passing your car test and you get banned for reaching 6 pointsyou then have to reapply to the traffic commissioner
Just a footnote here about the company that I trained with.
I used ‘Coachers’ in Hastings.
They are a good old fashioned, down to earth company/Instructor.
The instructor was a very good guy, caring and doing his absolute best to get you to the required standard…Everyone is different and his style and approach fitted with me just fine, I don`t mind a bit of banter and bit of ‘language’ and I let him know this from the start…So for me it was a familiar environment to be in, equally I should imaging that he would adjust his style for anybody, as he said his best ever student was and still is a woman, not being sexist here, just trying to give a little insight into how flexible Richard, the instructer is as regards respect etc.
Thanks Richard, you helped me to realise my dream…
