Trainers with their own test centres

What are the pros & cons of a trainer that has their own test centre
I have just found out that L&T that who I’m planning to use now has their own test centre
Just been wondering what the pros & cons of this is

Cue Peter Smythe

as an addition : it does help trainees as you practice reverse on the area you take your test on

We were asked by DSA to run the scheme as a trial 4 years ago. Trust me, there is NO downside. Pete

My trainer has there own test centre too. I like the idea of having your test from where you have learned and not having to drive over to a test centre. Think that would make me feel more nervous.

Defiantly helps being in a familiar place Peter has reference places all over and it’s like going into a yard you deliver to all the time you know where to position lorry for a first time manoeuvre and your comfortable with the place !

No downside to it infact it was a bonus that Pete Smythe who i trained with was based at there own test centre. From the moment you get in the wagon you are becoming familiar with the test centre and you are driving test routes all the time without having to travel to them.

No negative views on private test centres combined with training schools.
I recently passed c+e at one in Mansfield Woodhouse.

I found it a great help being familiar with the test centre.
Practing reversing excercise on the same bit of concrete that you will use for the test
Every route you take out of training centre could be test routes.
It was one of the reasons I chose this training centre. And i and other on here would aggree it was a good choice.

I took 2 of the 3 tests for my vocational licences in these sorts of places and certainly made the reversing test easier. One of the reasons for choosing who I did for my CE was because for my C the reverse training area was a carpark with potholes…
