Trainers out there will you see a drop in truck training for driver with acquired rights in 2014, thats the ones with little or no DCPC done, and would it be worth it for them to wait till after there acquired rights have lapsed come 10th September 2014 and do the initial CPC instead cost wise would this not be cheaper for them.
Or will the power of bee allow those that do there test in 2014, be allowed to do the initial CPC and gain the DQC in stead of having to get the 35 hours done in such a short time.
I know there be some on here that there should have done some by now, but what about the ones that are change the career and have never been in transport.
Your comments on this would be interesting as this could have an affect on your income and work load if there did, what I have said in my above comments
I doubt there will be much of a drop if any because I reckon most doing LGV training will be under age 34 which means they will need to do intiial dcpc modules 2 and 4 for commercial driving so no different to present
Only those who are over age 34 who got the free LGV C1 before 1997 will be affected by having to get 35 hours of periodic dcpc training before they can drive commercially
For the last group the DSA is looking into this issue at the moment because they are considering whether it is legal to allow those with the free C1 to do the initial after september 2014 instead of the 35 hours periodic - I do not think the current EU directive rules allow that so IMO that would need a change from the EU Parliament (some hope!!)
There is nothing to stop those with the free pre 97 C1 doing the 35 hours before they even get started with the LGV C process because they are already a LGV C1 holder
