Trailers service week and VOSA

Some trailers can t found service week stickets.if VOSA stop and found who expire week ready gone.fault just for company or for drivers as well??

Company required to ensure vehicles meet inspections as per o’licence, driver to ensure it is road worthy.

Assuming you work for a distribution centre with a ‘Million Trailers’.
Unless you go into the office & do an Audit on the trailer paperwork, how would you know if its had its 6 week check.
All you can do is a walk round check for all the usual things to make sure it’s roadworthy & make sure that the MOT is in date.

If you get pulled it will just be down to whether there’s any defect or not. Provided it’s in MOT, they would have to let you on the way even if it had a big VOR sticker on it if they were unable to actually find the defect it referred to.

VOSA like operators to have robust and reliable systems in place to ensure roadworthiness but they do not enforce those directly at a roadside pull.

If they find a serious fault (brakes down to metal, broken chassis etc) then they are likely to call at the depot and start going through the paperwork!

Until they find a fault, or you otherwise get a poor OCRS rating, they’ll generally assume you/your company are doing things OK.
