Trailer weight?

hi
i have bought a trailer its plated at 39 tone how do i go about uprating it to 44 tone? any info much apreciated
thanks
john

when you say the trailer is plated at 39 tonne, what exactly do you mean?

3 x 8 tonne axles and 15 tonne kingpin?

that totals 39 tonne, but, if you add the weight of the unit, that makes 44 tonne

hi
yeah thats what plating cert says as you put 3x 8000 and kingpin 15000. but the unit is about 7 tonne that totals 46 tonne
on plating cert shouldnt it say gross weight 44tonne mine says gross weight 39 tonne ■■
thanks
john

so, if you add the 7 tonne unit to the 39 tonne trailer, totals 46 tonne

these are Maximum Gross Weights

you still have to adhere to the 44 tonne MGM

i thought that the trailer plating cert would have read 44 tonne gross not 39

nope

think of it another way

what if you put that trailer on the back of a 4x2 unit?

not 44 tonne then is it?

ha good point now that seems to make it more clear thanks for your help
john

no worries mate
