Picked 1 of our trailers up today and noticed the M.O.T. disc was missing.
Quick phone call to our workshop manager to inform him and he told me that they are no longer a requirement, and haven’t been since January 2018.
So now we don’t know if a trailer is M.O.T.ed.
I know ours will be because they make sure they do, and I trust our workshop when it comes to these kind of things, but what about all the other slightly more ‘Yes that’s got an M.O.T. driver, you can trust my word’ hauliers.

Enter the C number and it’ll bring up the mot details.
The c number is the trailers reg number as so to speak.
It’ll be like this, C235468

Not my problem MOT, Im just a driver
In my line of work most of our trailers don’t need an MOT (Because they are considered ‘Special’) but can be dragged up and down the country all year long, all we do is brake test them once a year.
Operators responsibility, not mine.

Yep same thoughts [emoji6]
It’s their goods in said trailer if it gets impounded by DVSA , not mine

As long as it has no driver detectable defects then it can go on the road as far I’m concerned. Operators responsibility to ensure it has an MOT.
