I got them out of the office to have a look and sods law says it wasnt coming on
I wasnt happy with the way the trailer looked when I coupled it up so tried again AND got another driver to take a look because something didnt look right with the way it looked but he said it was OK
open up the dashboard, remove the bulbs, that’ll stop the thing lighting up.
It meant, you’ve been playing with buttons and pressing things you shouldn’t, basically you’ve broken it.
To be fair you’ve not broken much since you’ve been at NDs it was like a bus a week pretty much, or so it seemed
Only the airline or whatever it was and the run bar, not bad going for two months or however log it’s been
the trailer control valve is usually a braking thing It could be a brake problem or it could be a sensor/electrical fault !
Does it happen with one trailer only or with any trailer ? ( assuming you swap trailers!)

It only happened on one trailer, and it sorted itself on the way back from my first drop…

I did, nobody knew what it meant and I wasnt in the mood that night so went out with it…
no handbook in the cab
with plant it is a legal requirement to have the handbook/operators manual in the cab
Get it into a dealer - it means there is a fault with the air supply (brake predominance) to the trailer. Its better to have it with the fault present rather than reading “non-active” faults.

Hook up with engine and ignition off and pull the ABS socket out to make sure you have not bent any pins in the socket (really easy to do).
Our Renaults are getting old now (56 and 07 plate) so these fault messages are now quite common. Simply put, if it feels right when driving then it probably is and you can put it down to being a sporadic fault. Put the handbrake off and press the trailer brake test button and see if you can pull away.
We usually get
Wheel Lock
Trailer Braking Danger
Trailer Control Fault
Trailer Link
Bla Bla Bla

Hi there
Thats a list i recognise very well
Wheel Lock = ABS Inop
Trailer Braking Danger & Trailer Control Fault = Fault with air valve controlling trailer brakes or thinks it has
Trailer Link = EBS Lead fault
This is the trouble relying on electronics to stop with
What was wrong with good old mechanical systems
Cheers

It did feel right when driving, heavily loaded with 2 cages
Trailer Link
Seen that one as well
The other one that comes up with alarmingly regularity is “bulb fault” when in actual fact there isnt any bulbs out

Bulb fault can occur with the wrong wattage bulb in one of the lamps or corrosion on a bulb holder even though the bulb works

Or when somebody get a liberal dose of grease on the electrical plugs…as happened to me the other week…there was a big dollop of grease on the white electric plug and it had been pushed into the contacts so i kept getting spurious bulb failure warnings until i could get it cleaned out.
