Traffic news

As the Radio is getting more and more dreadful presenters I’m looking for a way to get breaking traffic news during the day.

I tend to listen to podcasts so you miss out on breaking events. I have the Highways Agency app but it’s not really me friendly. Anyone discovered anything that just gives updates?

I don’t bother now.
Everywhere is forked anyway.
Rather than listen to the inane drivel churned out by radio presenters…I Take my chance with the matrix boards.

I can tell you that the a5 is closed after the a43

Press TP button on your radio and then you’ll get local traffic reports.

Matrix boards and TomTom live traffic sorts me out.

I agree but been caught out a few times recently. Having said that of course if somewhere is fubarred then all.other routes are as well anyway.

Couldn’t agree more.

I knew the A5 was closed after the A43, can’t remember how I found out. Have you ever seen those pedestrians that seem to be reported every few days?!

Until recently they were displaying that information as I was passing Toddington services, the only thing was I going southbound

Paid by the hour, what doesn’t get done today gets taken back,or done tomorrow…

Count yourself lucky, there are no traffic reports on a night. Just got to hope the matrix signs tell you in time of any closures. Usually they dont.

No, and I never slow down as asked. Those imaginary people would be walking on the hard shoulder, wouldn’t they ■■ tough ■■■■■■■ if they aint !!

On the Volvos we have the ‘TP’ only works if you’re listening to the radio or a CD, if you are using Bluetooth or iPod then there’s no TP option.

Building new houses on the A5 so putting in gas pipes and ■■■■, will also be a 7.5t limit soon which is a shame as it’s a good alternative when the M1 northbound is ■■■■■■.

I’ve delivered to the site opposite the racecourse, but then I go north again.

Once on the M1 near Luton the matrix signs were flashing that the M66 was closed at Ramsbottom. Useful!

The only sign that I’ve seen to make (almost) everyone slow down to 20 is “oncoming vehicle”

Just bought a house on that site so thanks for your contribution lol!

The matrix sign aren’t always up to date was on the M25 4.30 in the morning & they were still saying que ahead slow down there was some traffic but not that much as a few years back coming up on the M42 towards the M1 matrix said to slow down as due to a due that the 4 cars that had passed me must have been causing
