I’ll never go into a queue if I can help it, regadless of pay, it bores the bejesus out of me to sit in them! And sometimes, it’s good to drive a new road, or even one you aint been down for a while.
No, I avoid queues as much as I can, I’m on salary so I don’t gain anything stuck in traffic, hell I don’t like stopping to do my deliveries 
, much prefer the wheels to be turning 
well to be honest if there isnt a way round sometimes i head straight to back of the queue and to be fair ive never been delayed to much but if there is a way round il try it but its 50/50 sometimes go to the queue half the time if you head for the A roads everyone else is too so sometimes its no better off.

I like your thinking. I’ve always said that if it wasn’t for the stuff in the back this would be a great job. 
Coming down the M6 on Tuesday, I got held up in heavy traffic near Stoke. Never Mind, I will use the A50 onto the M1 and A14 
WRONG
I then got stuck in that crap near Leicester and the diversion down the M69. I ended up running down the 423 onto the M40.
It was a slightly longer route than planned 
everytime i do divert then get stuck somewhere else i always wonder where i would have been if i had sat out the first queue.

I’m a bit like you, but there are times when your far enough away to take an alternative, though once your nearly on top of the jam often the diversion is no better, and the real sickener is when you’ve diverted and your stuck down some back road, and you can see that blocked route is clear but you cant get to it

I’d never dream of sitting in a queue if I can avoid it, & will always try to find an alternative route. As long as theres no width/length/height/weight restriction, I’ll give it a go. Its not unusual for me to arrive back at the yard with bits of twigs &U trees hanging off the trailer, becase Ive been ‘off route!’

Yepp, thats the fun of it!
i aim for em cos our place gets me away late all the time…so when i bring the goods back…i just sit and laugh.
