Traffic filter trials

Not content with CAZ’s ULEZ’s Oxford is to launch a consultation period for traffic filters that will reduce private car use even more.

“Under the scheme, which will be enforced during operating hours using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, private cars will not be allowed through the traffic filters without a permit.”
“Residents in Oxford and some areas just outside the city will be able to apply for a permit to drive through the traffic filters for up to 100 days per year.” :open_mouth:
So 100 times per year you can use your car going into Oxford centre if it passes the CAZ emissions but the other 265 days it’s either public transport or active travel. :open_mouth: transport-network.co.uk/Oxf … ford/17793

Do you think you can choose which 100 days? If so, just buy 3 cars and the whole year is covered. [emoji12]

How dare they try to improve the quality of the air in the city centre? And how dare they, trying to ease the ever growing congestion in city centres?

People should just put up and accept you driving through their town/city, belching out exhaust fumes, just because you are a selfish luddite who feels entitled to keep driving his environment killing contraption, and to hell with our kids future…

LOL that would screw em up, It’s the first time I’ve read about this traffic filter scheme anywhere, It seems that even if your car is CAZ compliant you will still need a permit to travel there for a limited amount of journeys per year.
