Traffic commisioner

Hi, I am over 65yrs and have to take a medical each year…however this year I did so in march, and heard nothing for 6wks
then recieved a letter my licence was being reviewed by my area traffic commissioner,■■ I have had a clean licence for 30 yrs
surely they can see this in there computer’s finaly managed to contact someone yesterday who told me it’s because I had a
drink drive ban 32 yrs ago, !!! it’s now been 2mth’s and 2 wk’s without a valid licence…is this going to happen every year
and why did it happen this year anyway…ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS,■■?

Nothing to worry about if it was 32 y.o ago just go attend. I’d be more worried if I drove 2mins over my 4.5hour

Jim, you should have known better

Boom boom. Are you here all week?

As to the OP I find it extremely unlikely they would be pulling you in for a chat and biscuits over a drink drive ban that happened 32 years ago. More recent than that maybe.

We knew you wouldn’t let us down.

You…

Should have known better.

It’s hard to believe this has come about because of something from three decades ago. There might be something of interest for you in Statutory Document No.6, maybe something to set your mind at rest?

Yes need the Troll spray :unamused: knob’s wi gobbs as we call em in yorkshire bless em’

i has to ring the eastern traffic commissioners office , as when I applied for a renewal of my lisense I ticked a box on the application , which means it automatically gets sent to the t/c office , the DVSa just kept telling me it was being processed until a day or two before it ran out , then they informed me it was with the t/c eastern office & I would have to speak to them , I did & the lady in the office said I will look , apparently if you tick the box saying you’d had involvement ( or whatever the words were ) with the t/c then it automatically get sent to them , but in reality my shouldn’t of as I’d already be dealt with by courts / t/c , so she said she would inform DVsa straight away that it was ok to proceed with my application , which they did , but still had a week off work unpaid as had no lisense until processed
No idea if the box is still on lisense application as must be 3/4 yrs ago , so did you tick ( or whatever it required ) that box op , if you did ring your local t/c office & ask them about your application , very helpfully unlike DVSa

You can’t get a decent quality troll these days…

OK! so apparently and according to north east TC when I rang them today, this is happening quite a lot, wether I ticked a box I
shouldn’t have I dont know,?! they told me once this was delt with at he time it was archived, however at DVLA it all remain’s on file and operative’s there see and highlight the more serious offence code’s without using there common sense and spotting they are ancient and delt with…what’s worse is they have nothing in the system to delete or flag them as of no consequence
the average delay created once reffered to TC is 7 wks…in which time you cannot drive an hgv,!!! and nothing in place to prevent this happening every year, depending on which dvla operative deal’s with your medical application…( that’s a worry,! )
