I sometimes bring units back from the dealers and I’m only class 2, I did query it with the TM first though. I’ve got to admit, the first time I drove one I was shocked by the speed of the thing! :open_mouth:

Am I right in guessing that back then many tractor units were under 7.5t, so without extra rules could be driven by those with a car license.

no - they could only be driven by those with a HGV class 1

I love exiting an island on to a 2 lane road and the car behind pulls out to overtake the instant he’s on the road. I just gun it and blow them away :smiley:

Up to the legally allowed speed limit for that road obviously. Then I let them past :grimacing:

I have a artic front ns lens on the back seat of my car
would I have needed a class 1 in those days then before these very old rules were revoked :question:

Why on Earth would any of you want to take tractor units to Bulgaria ? … You all complain about East Europeans taking British jobs, so now you are all keen on taking your jobs to them FFS

Pat,you are right.I was thinking the same.
This is the second post about units going to BG and asking for drivers to take them there.
Are we both missing something as i do not get it.?

In terms of what Pat was saying I doubt if you turned round and said ‘I’m not doing it, it’s not right’ that he’d see the error of his ways and change the whole operation. Those trucks are going to Bulgaria, regardless of who drives them.
