Anyone want traction for a couple of days or a week/ month starting Sunday afternoon from Coleshill PM your number to discuss rates, only if your interested mind. 44 tonne flat work, ratchet straps, builders merchants & sites, steel, midlands to South Wales & back each day. A rate of £1.75 per mile springs to mind as suitable, money paid week 2 for week 1. I might not bother with drivers anymore & sub it out…

He was alright, lasted two weeks & then we had a gentleman’s disagreement about when he needed to start the week. C’est la vie.
I have a temp chap doing it at the mo who seems very capable.

Having read the problems that silver surfer and burnley si seem to have getting reliable drivers, its my opinion that its more to do with the type of work they offer than the money, ie flatbed work etc. Of course I could be a million miles away with my opinion.

my work is some of the easiest you will find max weight 5ton, i dont mess around with back loads its 95% out tip back, reload, or its trucking to reading tip reload all through the back doors, back up here park up go home, start at 4pm finish at midnight ish, when you come in the next day its already loaded just strap up do curtains and away you go, anyone got any easier work than that
Erm in a word…No. That sounds as easy as it gets. Got the impression you did flat work and tankers from your website with pictures of your units under flats/tankers. Did you get sorted with a driver or have you given up all hope, lol.

if one truck is quiet then it will go on anything, but still ■■■■ easy work, i will not put a motor on something i wouldnt do myself the tanker was pick up and drop off run back solo , the flat bed work is pre loaded just needs strapping down , but alot of my work is for my own customers, which pays to come back empty, ive tried getting back loads only to be shafted loading and unloading making me late for my customer thats why i dont do it any more

I tip my hat to all you lads trying to make a living by running your own business. I can only imagine how difficult it must be at times. Always wanted to try it myself, but think l’ll stick with working for someone, its easier.
